In-Person Workshop
Join us for a 3-Hour Beginner’s Gel Printing Workshop with Sonja Strausz.
This class will be a hands-on exploration of the many artistic possibilities of gel plate printing, with particular emphasis on how it can be paired with calligraphy.
Throughout the afternoon, we will experiment with different printmaking techniques. We will look at how gel printing is used for collage papers and make prints that can later be used on cards, paper, and canvas. We will study registration printing which allows you to create several prints at the same time and layer colours with precision.
Along the way, Sonja will share composition tips, including ways how to integrate lettering in our designs.
The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to printing techniques. Gel printing can be used for creating background sheets for art journals, and calligraphy work, or monoprints that stand on their own.
Warning: The process itself is a journey of exploration and discovery that can be addictive.

About Sonja
Sonja Strausz is a mixed-media artist whose work is shaped by years of exploration across multiple mediums. Her pieces feature printed collage papers, layered paint, expressive line work, and occasional touches of sparkle.
Ranging from whimsical to detailed and realistic, Sonja’s collections reflect her commitment to creative freedom. She does not confine her practice to a single style, method, or subject matter and hopes her colourful art brings a spark of joy to its viewer.
